Fall is in the air.

Get out those boots & hats, go get your tickets early and lets all meet for the 3rd Annual Life After Fifty Barn Dance! This is always a favorite theme for us "Southerners"!

 

JUKEBOX Oldies Band will be back with us to play your favorites from the 50's & 60's and plenty of line dance, Texas Two- step and "Boot-Sootin' Boogie" music.

 

Tickets are on sale at the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce:

$13.00 each or 2 for $25.00 - includes meal, beverage and dessert.

 

The Life After Fifty Committee will be serving their famous award winning chili (1st place in the 2008 Charity Chili Cook-off).

   WE will serve chili, cornbread, baked potato, all the toppings, dessert and beverage.  Meal will be served from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.  Dancing 7:00 - 10:00 PM.

Tickets sold out early last dance.  We did not have tickets at the door, so get yours early.  Table reservations available with purchase of 6 or more tickets.

60's Dance Party Preview

The 60's Dance Party was a complete success. The meal was catered by Bobby Wiseman,1st Runner Up in the recent 100 Black Men BBQ Cook-off! It was delicious and everyone seemed full and content. JUKEBOX OLDIES BAND kept the dance floor full from the 1st song of the night to the last. With dancing, costume & hoola hoop contests, 50/50 raffle, and cake auction, there was fun for all!!! Check out the picture presentation below. It is about 10 minutes long, so get a cup of coffee or snack, sit back and enjoy!! We had a great time on the LAKES AREA LUXURY LINER - Dancing on the Deck! All who arrived at the Eagle's Roost Conference Center on Saturday night, April 28, 2012 boarded and were seated for the Captain's Dance. With hits from the 50's & 60's, the dance floor stayed busy! Lakes Area Mardi Gras - This Saturday Night!!

Today is February 21st the official 2012 day of Mardi Gras. I hope you have enjoyed some of the festivities on television and brushed up on your Mardi Gras Trivia!!

We will celebrate our own Mardi Gras this weekend and we will do it South Georgia style!!

Mardi Gras Night with Life After Fifty

It's been a little while since we've been together. Since our last dance, we have all been quite busy with Christmas, New Years and following those resolutions we made!! January brings a new year, the time to regroup, look forward and make plans.
Well, you have to make plans to be at the February Dance. We are using the MARDI GRAS theme. This will be lots of fun and something different.

We have reduced ticket prices as we are not serving a meal. We encourage you to visit our local restaurants on your way over!! But save room for dessert!

Tickets are only $5.00 and we will have snacks, dessert items, sodas etc. available for purchase.

Our committee met today and we are ready to get started on the next great event!!
But before we get into that, we want to let you all know that Ann Peterson has been a dedicated member or our committee. She was hand picked to be on our committee because of her outstanding service to the Lakes Area Community, her Christian leadership and her dedication to the people of this community. She is so involved in volunteer work with the church and with local organizations to enhance the lives of those who love Lake Park as she does. She has a special love for those who may be housebound, in a nursing home or handicapped and not able to be out and active in the community.
Our "Life After Fifty" Committee wants to commend her on service to the community, her integrity in the role as Clerk for the City of Lake Park, and all she does as a volunteer in the many orgaizations she is involved in. She is truly a role model for those wanting to better serve God and his people.
